The tape is extremely sticky and uses well. A few or twenty of my hairs lost their lives to its power. The good and most important thing is, though, that it holds; I know it won't fall off of something easily that I need held together. It also came in very good use with sculpture-creating. Plus, it makes a very bold fashion statement to walk around wearing it. Way to go with the flow!

Scotch High Performance Packaging Tape

I have been using this product for years and it has never let me down! Sticks right and stays tight! I use it for boxes going to storage, boxes used in moving for packages being mailed.
The dispenser makes using it easy. and you never have to worry about finding the end and "picking at it" to start a new piece!!

I've struggled with masking tape, brown paper and string, glue, various forms of tape, so I was quite pleased, as the years passed to discover Scotch(R) High Performance Packaging Tape. I have had no problems or complaints. This particular tape is also quite helpful when packing boxes around the house to store, move, or take to the consignment shop with items to sell. Whatever the job, Scotch(R) High Performance Packaging Tape is the tape I choose. My only complaint is that Scotch(R) High Performance Packaging Tape wasn't available sooner--it would have certainly saved me a lot of time, headaches, and frustation!

My husband and I own 3 internet stores and we only used Scotch Brand products. The High Performance Packaging Tape is a no brainer for us. We pack our orders, tape them up, ship and forget it. We use a number of tapes but the packaging tape is used the most. We have NEVER had a problem!! In over 8 years we can honestly say that we have never had a failure of any of the Scotch Brand tapes or a problem during shipping.......and we ship domestic as well as international. I purchased this tape to seal large boxes, and it works superbly. It is clear, so I can also use it to seal in mailing labels. This product is very useful and strong. When I want to build up sides on a cardboard box, I put it around the corners and i know it won't fall off..... it really sticks!!! I have never had a rip in it either, unlike some other kinds of tape.

Scotch high performance packing tape.
This is my favorite tape! Taping packages is just one of the many things I use it for, but one "unorthodox" use is to remove other things. For example, if I remove a label and it leaves part of the label and/or a sticky residue, I put a piece of this tape over it, press it down, and then remove the tape......takes everything with it!
As for its main purpose.....it is the best packing tape you can buy.

Since you have come out with the "easier" to handle packaging tape dispenser- no longer am I messing the tape all up with my attempt to put it on a package. For years and years I always hated having to get the "tape gun" as we all called it because even when it ran out we all dreaded having to remember the flow of how the tape was threaded to come out on the other end correctly. Maybe I am in the minority with the previous hassle of packaging tape but I don't think so. This has been like a miracle in our office.

We found ourselves needing to move our stuff out of the rental storage unit we rented . It was damaged by a storm and was leaking. We had water soaked boxes and a mess . But the boxes we got and the Scotch brand movers tape made it a breeze to repack the damaged boxes and move them to a different place. THANK YOU SCOTCH BRAND !!!

Scotch tape is unbeatable!
I have been on a budgeting plan ever since I lost my job in January 2010 and have tried several generic type tape to save money and realized after trying several off brand (off-brand meaning any brand besides Scotch) and came to see why it was cheaper. They are cheaper because they substitute quality in my opinion. I went back to purchasing Scotch brand tape for all off my taping needs including packing tape, labeling tape, wrapping tape and office tape and I am in relief! Scotch tape works wonders and has never been the tape used when a package busted open, a big bubble was left on my shipping label and never has Scotch tape tore and stuck to the tape roll while ripping in pieces trying to peel it back off the roll. After all of my trial and errors I came to realize one fact worth notating... While the economy is tough and though we are all cutting back there is just some things that have no substitute and that is Scotch brand tape. It works fabulously. Period. It has no substitute!

This is the only kind of packing tape to use! Other kinds get wadded when you try to take them off the roll, etc. This tape always goes where you put it and stays there!! It is very durable and usually takes only one strip!!

Scotch Shipping Packaging Tape
I do a lot of shipping and I have found this tape to be very strong and heavy duty. Sticks fast and I have never had a problem with postage labels ever coming off of my packages on route to its destination. Very dependable. I have tried others and this Scotch brand is the BEST. I won't switch to any other.

Performance Packaging Tape
I use this item on a regular basis. I don't have to worry about it not sticking or curling up and coming off the package at the ends, etc. The quality is good. No a thin cheap tape.

I send packages to Texas regularly and like this tape because one piece always does the trick. Cheaper tapes you need to double up on the tape.

Dependable and Easy to use
Ten months ago, my husband and I moved 400 miles to be closer to family. My mother had passed away several years ago and my father suffered a stroke so he made the choice to move with us. That meant packing up not only our home but everything from my parents home as well. Needless to say we used MANY rolls of tape. With so many boxes to build and seal I tried to cut costs by using "store brand" tape. I ended up using twice as much because they did not stick as well as Scotch so after 1 roll I went back to my trusty Scotch brand packing tape with the easy to use Heavy Duty dispenser. I LOVE the soft grip handle and how quick and easy it is to load the tape in the handle. This kept the momentum flowing and we were able to get more packing done with less hassle.

The ever great Mylar Tape
I have been using Mylar tape for over 15 years. It has always been the strongest and best packaging tape I've ever used. It is almost impossible to break. The grip of this product has been amazing the way it sticks to almost any surface. I know that one of the largest shipping companies around uses this product to seal packages that come open to help them reach their destination successfully.

I have high regards for this packing tape. Years ago, I purchased a package of this tape for sealing and mailing a package. I was unsure if the tape would hold since the package was quite bulky and heavy. But the package arrived at its destination, the tape still holding the box in perfect condition. I do not purchase or use any other brand of tape but Scotch.

Wrapping Christmas gifts is so much easier if you incorporate Scotch packing tape as part of your supplies. I use it exclusively for hard to adhere velvet bows and sticking embellishments to packages like buttons, holly, candy canes, etc. Simply use it like double sided tape and wow! does it work.
I also use it to decorate my mailbox, front door, and other hard-to-reach areas.
It definitely gets a 5-star ratingId!!

Scotch Heavy Duty Shipping Tape
There are no worries when using the Scotch Brand PSTape. It is a quality product that is easy to use and highly productive compared to other tape of this type. If you lose the end it is the easiest tape that I know to retrieve and keep the job going.

One of the best packaging tapes Ive ever used. Its easy to use. I love that it comes with the cutter attached to the product. You dont have to use a lot of it for it to work. Just 1 strip on each box opening is enough.

Great for boxes with shifting contents
I love this tape! If I use it for something to go into the garage for storage, it is still working the following year. If I send it on a package to GA and it gets rained on, it is still holding strong. It gives me a strong sense of security.

NOT Sticky. Will not stick to regular cardboard.
Based on all of the rave reviews, I must have received a bad batch or something. I got a small box of these 1.5" cores on the plastic dispensers.
I took one small roll (out of the small box of them) with me to a convention, so that I could pack up everything when the show was complete.
When I put it on the first box, I noticed that something was very wrong. It would barely stick to the box. I noticed that it would barely even stick to my fingers. I then tried to seal a couple boxes with it. However, buy the time I got to the next box, it was already coming off of the previous box.
When pulled it off of the roll, it was nearly as sticky on the "adhesive" side as it was on the back.
This was huge mess for me. It was the only roll of tape I had (I only had 6-7 boxes to seal). When I got back, I noticed that the other brand-new rolls were the same.
Very disappointing. :-(

I have NEVER been able to thread this dispenser. No matter how calm I am, no matter how much I try, it won't work! I've used many rolls and I never am able to use it properly. Please! Make a video before I lose my mind!

Less than stellar performance
Bought shipping and packing tape for a move. It just kept lifting off. At one point I was lifting a box off the ground and my foot stuck to a piece of lifted tape. The whole bottom came open

I have bought Scotch shipping tape for years. However, the latest roll I purchased and tried to use today is just terrible. It is SO sticky, it sticks hard to itself. I cannot get a full width piece to even get it started to use on the dispenser. It breaks off in little pieces and is next to impossible to pry off the roll. I'm so annoyed with the this roll.

Packaging Tape ripped in my hand!
I have purchased Scotch brand heavy duty tape for years to ship packages to my family. I purchased a 38.2 yd heavy duty 20x stronger roll again today but unfortunately, while wrapping the large package, the tape ripped in my hands a number of times. Totally disappointed and surprised. I hope it is just a bad batch.

I am an elementary teacher and use this tape for many many things in the classroom. One of the biggest uses is to tape name plates on student desks. I have never had any trouble until this year. The tape will not stay down on the desks. I bought a multi pack of tape and have tried all the rolls. I have wiped the tables with water, then the school's cleaner and then Clorox wipes. The tape comes up after each cleaning. Help! What do I need to do?

The tape seems to be strong. The dispenser works well. I taped a box yesterday and today, it started to pop up. What is happenning? I am very disappointed. Unfortunately, I cannot return it as I do not have the receipt nor the packaging. It was purchased about 1 month ago.

Scotch Shipping tape dispenser roller
With projects for grandchildren, shipping, etc. we go through this tape quickly. This is the 2nd time we have bought the tape (different vendors) and the cardboard inside roll is distorted so you can not pull the tape through the dispenser unless you pull the red plastic sides away from the roll of tape. Causes a lot of frustration!

Great Tape... Horrible Dispenser
The tape is great. I am a teacher and use it a great deal to hang things in my classroom. The dispenser is the worst!!!!!! It gets stuck and or it clings to the roll and I have to find the edge of the tape to start it rolling. Bad Design.

Just try to open the roll!

Easy to Use, Great Results
The Scotch Heavy Duty Shipping Tape is easy to use to provide secure and neat package wrapping. I can wrap packages without the tape wrinkling or bunching. I can use less of this tape than other brands because it is strong enough to do the job with just one pass. It is reliable!

Moving, waterproofing mailing labels, and more
I love the way Scotch Shipping Tape holds moving boxes securely together. The easy-to-use dispenser makes assembling boxes quick work. And I also use this wide tape over my package mailing labels to ensure the address is easy-to-read and waterproof. Sometimes I use this tape around the edges of manila envelopes to make them stronger for mail handlers. The tape comes off the roll evenly, not in strips and pieces like some cheaper brands I have used. It's really the best value overall.

Might be great if you can ever get to it!
Just bought a six pack of this product and there are three problems before I ever use it: The fact that I sought out this web site to complain about this product, which I rarely do about anything, is an indication of my frustration with it,\
1) Instructions for routing the tape through the dispenser are incomprehensible: "Pull tape through tabs" You can't pull tape "through" tabs - there is no "through". There is only under or over. Horrible diagram included does not make this any better. Once you figure that out, you are on your own on how to route tape across cutting bar.\
2) You can't get the tape off the roll without damaging the roll, the dispenser, or both. There is a white bar to indicate where the tape begins on the roll, only it's not at the beginning, its buried somewhere in the first turn of tape on the roll. You have to use a boxcutter or similar to cut carefully cut into the roll and unwind the first turn, losing some amount of product just to create a starting point.\
3) When you attempt to remove the cardboard the instructions are printed on, it tears off and leaves a section under the cutting bar which must be removed to use the tape. This is so difficult to remove it requires needle nose pliers to pull out, and it's so strong that the cutting bar is actually damaged at the four points where it must be removed.\
Normally I love 3M products. My house, garage and workshop are full of 3M products. I trust 3M to deliver a quality product. The tape on this product is probably wonderful, but that doesn't matter if you can't access or use it due to poor packaging and incomprehensible instructions.

Worst tape I've ever used
This tape is terrible! Sadly I bought 2 6 packs and we are in the middle of moving. I'm not going to go out and buy more tape so this is what I'm stuck with. First I'm constantly losing the end, when I find it and start to pull up 70% of the time it will split into at least 2 pieces. At one time I had it split 4 different ways. I've had a few times where it splits and I think I've got it back to one piece but then a giant triangular piece pulls off unexpectedly and I'm back to trying to find the end. It also doesnt hold well at all. I couldn't imagine using this to send packages in the mail. They would definitely open. Luckily we are just moving so the boxes will be up right at all times. Hopefully the bottoms stay sealed. All the tops are slowly coming undone though, so that's fun. Heavy duty isnt the right name for this tape. Waste of time and annoying would be words I would use instead

This is the only brand I buy for it's constancy and worth for the money spent. I do lots of shipping throughout the year and go through rolls of tape. So it's worth my while to get the best.

I have been in the packing business most of my life, and this tape is the worst tape I have ever used. I pack a box and 10 minutes later ALL your tape has pulled away from the box. What over priced crud. Nothing like doing twice the work when you already have enough to do when packing a house. Don't waste your $ on this stuff!

This tape is perfect for shipping and packing large boxes. It's nice and sticky and each piece is evenly cut because of the dispenser. Used this to send some packages and the tape held up well with the boxes.

I got this tape to close up boxes of items that I am moving into the basement for storage. It is super sticky and very durable. It is not flimsy and one strip of tape accurately seals the box.

I love this tape. I find my packages are secure and I don't have to worry about it opening during shipping. I like that it includes the dispenser as well. The size is perfect for an occasional user like myself. I like that it can be stored in a drawer or desk. The tape quality is great. It's on the thicker side without being too hard to tear.

The only shipping/packing tape I ever use!
I got this at no charge in exchange for my review. Funny thing is that I already have 3 rolls of Scotch shipping tape in my house! It's what I always use for shipping and every year I use it to pack my Christmas decorations. Best tape ever!! The dispenser is easy to use and the tape secures my boxes so well, one strip is all I use (whereas other tapes I had to double or triple up on). Thanks, 3M and Scotch for the freebie! :-)

This packing tape is pretty great. It holds so good that I feel I might not be able to open the boxes I packed up with this tape! Haha! But seriously, I don’t think I’ll ever go to another brand because this one is my favorite.

I recently had to send a phone back for repairs and used this tape to make sure the box was sealed good. This tape was very easy to get started, pull out to dispense the tape and tear pieces off. I was able to do it very easy and fast. I also love that the tape even feels thicker and durable. I was able to send our phone back with piece of mind knowing it was secure with this tape. I'm very pleased with it and will buy more when i need it.

I used this to tape together moving boxes and it's very strong. No need to do one piece down the middle and another on each side - which saves you money & time. I was provided a free sample and it was perfect timing and very helpful!

I send my son mothly care packages to his base and go through packing tape faster than anything else because I have to use multiple layer, but not with this tape. Scotch Heavy Duty does the job in one strip! I am impressed with the gauge thickness and hold, very good job Scotch.

I received the tape dispenser from 3M to try and I LOVE it. I recently used it in a situation when I didn't have much room to keep the dispenser but with this compact unit it worked out perfect

3M sent me a roll of this tough stuff to test and I'm now a big fan. It holds fast on every box I've tried no matter the texture or the load. Once it's stuck, it's staying or else you'll damage the paper it's stuck to. The dispenser works perfectly just like the other packing tape dispensers I've used on Scotch products. Perfect for heavy moving boxes!
